AG recognise the devastating effect of the lack of employment opportunities within Roma communities. One of the main focus of AG is to tackle this problem, by creating work opportunities that are routed in the Roma cultural heritage. To begin with, this will be done especially through and with regard to the medium of art, such as music and dance, as these art forms currently have a strong presence within Roma communities. Our aim is to create an ensemble, that will be run at a professional artistic and organisational level such as a symphony or a chamber orchestra. We will be working closely together with prominent music industry professionals and organisations and we will look at successful Roma ensembles operating in other countries such as the Budapest Gypsy Symphony Orchestra.
